Her idols include Ari Shapiro, Winnie the Pooh, Maurice Sendak, and she eats a lot of yogurt. PUBLISHER
Benjamin McPherson Ficklin publisher@oregonvoice.com / (503) 319-9264 Ben was first discovered as a petroglyph in the submerged portion of The Columbia River Gorge. His meaning has been debated by archeologists (who believe he represents birth), anthropologists (who believe he represents death), and geologists (who believe he is a strange smudge made by a plummeting boulder). The petroglyph has not been asked its meaning. Estimates also vary regarding the durability of the carving due to the continually churning river. Few predict he will maintain distinction. In reality Ben takes photos, writes words, studies cultures, and would prefer to be in the woods. He loves you too. |

Taylor Johnston tjohnsto@uoregon.edu Taylor is a Junior studying drawing and painting. She was conceived within the great womb of mother Cascadia, specifically in the Portland region of her northern ovary. As Art Director, Taylor serves as grand overlord of all illustrators and photographers of the voice, as well as contributing her own masterful artworks and leading the layout of the publication. She enjoys cooking, bicycling, salsa dancing, long walks on the beach, and punching things. She feels all tingly inside when she imagines herself illustrating for some really dope publication in the future. |
